Scenario
You need to prepare a short leadership briefing on the Energy Data Platform initiative. You will create a presentation from a Word source, add an explanatory slide, improve the deck, and generate speaker notes.
Exercise 1 - Create a presentation from a Word document
- Open PowerPoint in your browser.
- Open Copilot from the Home tab.
- Create a new presentation and reference the project charter file.
- Submit the following prompt.
Create a 7-slide executive presentation from /01_Mock_Project_Charter_Energy_Data_Platform.docx.
Audience: BP Malaysia senior leadership training audience.
Include:
1. Title
2. Business problem
3. Proposed solution
4. Scope and deliverables
5. Risks and mitigations
6. Decisions required
7. Next steps
Use concise slide titles and leadership-friendly wording.
Exercise 2 - Add a new slide
Create one additional slide explaining why KPI standardization is important in energy operations reporting.
Use a simple visual structure with three key points.
Exercise 3 - Improve slide wording
- Navigate to a slide with dense text.
- Select the text box.
- Use the Copilot pen icon or Copilot prompt box.
- Submit the following prompt.
Make this slide more executive-focused.
Reduce the word count.
Keep only the message that supports a decision.
Exercise 4 - Generate speaker notes
Create speaker notes for each slide.
Each note should contain:
- The key message
- One supporting detail
- One transition sentence to the next slide
Exercise 5 - Review the presentation
Give me slide-by-slide suggestions to improve this presentation for a senior leadership audience.
Focus on clarity, decision support, risk visibility, and visual storytelling.
