Scenario

You are launching a Copilot enablement session that will be attended by people from every department and business unit. Before any lab, confirm the mock files are accessible, sensitivity labels are correct, and everyone understands the data-handling guardrails.

Exercise 1 — Confirm the workspace

• Open OneDrive and locate the Contoso Group copilot / sample data folder.
• Confirm all 14 files from the Sample Data Inventory are visible, including the five .xlsx workbooks, the .csv, and the .pptx deck.
• Open Copilot Chat in Work mode and reference one file with / to confirm file grounding works.
• Do not move, rename, or edit the source files during the labs.

✅ Validation: If files do not appear in Copilot file search, refresh the browser, confirm OneDrive sync, and use the file picker instead of typing the full name.

Exercise 2 — Set the guardrails

• Open 05_Mock_Data_Handling_and_Prompt_Safety_Guide.docx and skim the data classes and prompt rules.
• Confirm each sample file carries a training-approved sensitivity label (for example, General).
• Agree three team rules: no real or regulated data in prompts, always verify outputs, and label generated content at the source classification.

🧭 Instructor guidance: If a feature is unavailable in the tenant, keep the scenario and run the exercise as a prompt-design discussion. The learning goal is how to structure work, source context, and validation — not the specific button.
